KAYAK TELLURIDE
Kayaking is a perfect activity to do with your family or friends during your stay in the Telluride region . Most of our students come to us with little or no experience. Our cutting edge curriculum and nurturing instruction provides a unique whitewater adventure. All of our whitewater kayak programs are small and highly individualized experiences.
FULL DAY TRIP
After becoming introduced to all of the necessary equipment at Jagged Edge we then take a ten minute drive to Elk Pond located in the heart of Mountain Village where students learn the "wet exit" and the fundamental strokes on a picturesque pond. After lunch , provided by TKS, we head to the San Miguel River where we will paddle a class I-II section of river near the town of Telluride. Here we will focus on controlling the kayak in the dynamic environment of the river. This trip is a great introduction for first timers and perfect for students who have completed our 1/2-day lesson.
1/2 DAY TRIP
The perfect introduction to whitewater kayaking against the stunning backdrop of the Telluride Valley. We start with the basics in a still pool at the confluence of Bear Creek and the San Miguel. Then, depending on how the group's skills are progressing, we will move downstream to a short section of the San Miguel River for further instruction. Short river stretches with ample instruction provide a great first whitewater kayaking experience.
